The five-time world champ Raymond van Barnfield moved into the semi-finals at the second crucial darts tournament of the year, the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton.


4 weeks prior to the start of the World Cup (December 15th to January 3), the Dutch beat the world ranking Berwyn Price from Wales with 16:13 in the quarter-finals. Through the semi-finals, van Brevet climbs in the world rankings from 50 to 34.

In the second quarter-finals of the night, the world ranking-listed Michael Smith defeated his British compatriot Joe Cullen with 16:15.

The previous long-term rival by darts legend Phil Taylor will actually start again after his resignation in 2020 and the subsequent return 2021 in the emphasis of the year in the London Ally Pally, won all of his previous five matches in Wolverhampton and mushed into the world championship.
